ALLIANCE A four-time All-American and three-time national champion has become Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the first time.

Mount Union senior James Roth earned the award after he helped lead the Purple Raiders to a share of their eighth straight team title at the All-Ohio Division III Championships on Saturday. He won the 400 meters in 48.98 seconds and finished second in the 200. His winning 400 time provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Division III national meet. It is also the fifth-best time in the nation this season.
Roth has been a part of three national champion 1,600 relay teams at Mount Union. Two of them helped the Purple Raiders claim the indoor and outdoor national team titles last year.
